Mandate
Local green NH₃ — where the resources make it possible.
Farm Resources AS is a newly registered Norwegian company, based in southern Sunnmøre. We facilitate, and will build and operate a pilot plant for local, green ammonia production based on a Norwegian hydropower resource.
Ammonia (NH₃) is the backbone of modern food production and an increasingly relevant fossil-free fuel for ships and heavy machinery. Today NH3 is produced at large centralised plants, using fossil energy, and shipped across long distances. It does not have to be that way.
Our pilot target is 2028. We are honest about where we are on the journey — no pilot has been built yet. But we have a clear plan and a strong, focused team, both locally and internationally. With a national advantage: Norwegian hydropower in the regions, where water-rights holders hold the resource, available for whoever wants to harvest the energy.
Why decentralised
Short local value chains. A structure strong on preparedness. Energy can be refined at the source, and to a lesser extent exported as a raw commodity.
Why Norway
Rich in renewable hydropower, a mature maritime sector on a steady course toward green transition, and several hundred small hydropower plants on private land.
Why now
Geopolitical pressure on supply lines. Mature electrolysis technologies. Farmers, landowners and rural municipalities seeking local industrial development.
